Cantal. Words take power in Laroquebrou for the 27th Book Fair

Like every year the weekend following the Brive Book Fairthe authors are at the Laroquebrou Book Fair. Muriel Crantelle of the Point-Virgule bookstore in a partner of the event for more than ten years, explains: “Our Fair benefits from this calendar to attract writers who were in Brive the previous week.

Installed for 27 years in the multipurpose room, about fifty authors, publishing associations and thousands of visitors find themselves in an atmosphere friendly every fall.

Co-organized by the Roque Culture Évasion association and the municipality

More than 50 authors in various literary genres

For this edition, around fifty authors will come together, offer signing sessions and moments of exchange with their readers. Among them, regulars such as Antonin Malraud, René Pagis, or even Jean-Luc Marcastelbut also new feathers to enrich this programming eclectic.

“We tried one year to accommodate 70 authors, but the configuration of the space was not suitable for this. We therefore returned to a format on a human scale» , specifies Pierre Audissergues, co-president of the Roque Culture Évasion association.

Animations and a “quasi” novelty

Visitors, between 2,000 and 3,000 expected, will also discover original animations.

At 11 a.m., a conference by Laurent Occelli on the edible wild plantspromises to captivate the public. A second-hand book sales area and readings out loudby the association “Here we read” will also enrich this day.

Dictation for everyone

The Fair will also bring up to date the traditional “ dictation of the school certificate» which had disappeared for several years. Organized at the primary school at 11 a.m. and open to all, this test will offer a text from the 1930s. “The dictation was partmust-havesA few years ago, we decided to relaunch this tradition,” declares Yves Suc, secretary of Roque Culture Évasion.

Free and open to all from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room and the town hall atrium, with the addition this year of a refreshment bar (without alcohol) and pastries in the morning.
