Marie Aubert is the new prefect of Dordogne. She was appointed following the Council of Ministers this Wednesday, November 6. Marie Aubert succeeds Jean-Sébastien Lamontagne who remained prefect of Dordogne for three years. This is the third time in history that a woman has been appointed state representative in Dordogne. Marie Aubert was, until now, delegated prefect in charge of security in the Grand Est region, in Metz.
Originally from Gironde
Marie Aubert is originally from Gironde. She trained at the Institute of Political Sciences in Bordeaux before joining the ENA. Before her position in Metz, she was delegated prefect for equal opportunities in Bouches-du-Rhône and even sub-prefect of Le Havre. Marie Aubert also worked in Béarn and she was also, between 2012 and 2014, chief of staff of the Minister of Culture in Paris.
After three years in Dordogne, Jean-Sébastien Lamontagne was appointed to the interministerial departmental direction. He becomes vice-president of the higher council for territorial support and evaluation.
