Rejected by the “elites”, but elected by the people. Treated as “fascist” but victorious without calling for universal suffrage. Presented as the absolute “devil” by the self-proclaimed proponents of democratic virtue. The Trump case has something to shed light on the French political debate.
First of all, there is this colossal gap between the relays of opinion, media, cultural or otherwise, and public opinion itself which clearly preferred him to Kamala Harris.
