Hospital and private health professionals are mobilizing to organize a cardiovascular disease prevention day on Saturday 16 November, from 8 h 30 at the Saint-Joseph hospital in Bitche, in partnership with the community of communes and the CPTS (territorial professional health community) of Pays de Bitche. “ Cardiovascular diseases are a public health issue, insists the Dr Anca-Loredana Pop, cardiologist. They represent the second cause of death after cancer. »
The operation is a first in Pays de Bitche, a rural territory, “ where there is a shortage of attending physicians and cardiologists. We offer free screening by appointment. Around forty slots have been opened on Doctolib. The objective : « avoid developing heart disease later ».
Electrocardiogram, measurement of blood pressure, blood sugar, etc.
The day targets people aged 45 to 60, “ who have not consulted a cardiologist or angiologist for more than five years », Explains Dorothée Czarnecki, director of Bitche hospital.
Beforehand, they will have to complete a questionnaire “ to establish their route ”, depending on their risk factors (smoking, hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, sedentary lifestyle, etc.) and benefit from a personalized assessment, with “ an electrocardiogram, measurement of blood pressure, blood sugar and also some ultrasound parameters », lists the DrPop.
Many hospital and liberal health professionals, from the community of municipalities, the CPTS and partners will be present : cardiologists, angiologists, nurses, tobacco midwife, dieticians, teachers of adapted physical activity, representatives of the prevention program I love you my heart, the Heart and Health Club, the aquatic centers of Bitche and Rohrbach-lès- Bitche, from the Vosges Club of Pays de Bitche and the voluntary gymnastics of Bitche.
Creating bridges between community medicine and hospitals
Depending on the assessment, patients will be invited to consult. The prevention day is a public/private partnership. “ We collaborate easily with the community of municipalities and the CPTS of Pays de Bitche. This is an opportunity to create bridges between community medicine and hospitals. », continues Dorothée Czarnecki.
