A resident of Risoul, already known for acts of violence and traffic offenses, is being tried immediately in Gap this Wednesday, November 6 after refusing to comply. Drunk, he had driven at high speed to escape the police.
A resident of Risoul (Hautes-Alpes) is on trial in immediate appearance at the Gap court this Wednesday, November 6, in the afternoon, after having led a dangerous chase between Gap and Chorges on the evening of Monday, November 4, learned BFM DICI. As a reminder, multiple facts are accused of the suspect.
“Refusal to comply aggravated by endangerment in view of the very dangerous conduct adopted between Gap and Prunières, rebellion and driving while intoxicated”, lists Marion Lozac'hmeur, the public prosecutor of Gap.
The magistrate adds that the individual “will also be tried for threats against gendarmes dating back to September 2024”. This is not the man's first attempt. This original Risoulin had already been convicted in the past for acts of violence and especially traffic offenses.
Monday evening, this 23-year-old man took all the risks to try to escape the police. Around 11 p.m. that evening, a police patrol spotted a vehicle driving at high speed on Avenue d'Embrun. Despite requests from the police, the driver refused to comply, notably using a parking lot to try to outrun the police.
The vehicle then entered the RN94, in the direction of Chorges, at very high speed with all lights off, overtaking without visibility and crossing continuous white lines.
A police vehicle hit
On his route, the driver had crossed the 200 km/h mark to get to Chorges. But at the Baie Saint-Michel junction, the police ended up catching up with the vehicle.
During the intervention, the suspect hit the police car, but without causing any injuries. The man was finally arrested a little further away, when he was stuck in a cul-de-sac.
During his arrest, the individual rebelled but was eventually overpowered and placed in police custody. A young female passenger was also in the vehicle.
According to tests carried out after his arrest, the man was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. He was also following a course to recover points for his driving license.
