In the first constituency of Isère, the seat has been vacant since October 9 and the resignation of the ex-LFI, Hugo Prévost, accused of sexist and sexual violence. Since then, this seat has attracted everyone's desire.

The socialist elected representative in Isère, Amandine Germain, announced this Wednesday, November 6, that she was withdrawing her candidacy in favor of that of the candidate of La France Insoumise (LFI) Lyes Louffok.

“Keeping this constituency on the left must be the only objective that drives us”declares in a press release Amandine Germain, who had been chosen by local PS activists against a backdrop of tensions between the forces of the New Popular Front (NFP) in this seat. “In the current context, the left has no chance of winning this constituency if it is not united”adds the departmental advisor, rallying behind the candidacy of child rights activist Lyes Louffok, nominated by LFI.

“I support Lyes Louffok, whose career and commitments I respect”she writes while not sparing her criticisms against her party: “I therefore regret the position of La France Insoumise to impose a candidate without listening or prior and local discussion, as well as the intransigence and methods of the LFI political apparatus, which seriously worry me for the future of the union of the left.”

The former Minister of Health and former government spokesperson Olivier Véran, for his part, announced this Tuesday, November 5, that he would not run again in this constituency that Hugo Prévost, 25, won from him in July.

His deputy, Camille Galliard-Minier, should be a candidate to represent the presidential coalition in this partial legislative election, the date of which has not yet been set.

Marine Tondelier, the boss of the Ecologists, has already confirmed that her party would support the LFI candidate, within the framework of the NFP constituency distribution agreement. The NFP candidate in Matignon, Lucie Castets, had, for a time, considered running in this constituency, before giving up. The Insoumis demanded that she sit within their group.
