Essonne: 15 towns recognized as being in a state of natural disaster

After the 71 municipalities of Essonne recognized as being in a state of natural disaster on October 26 following the floods that occurred between October 8 and 13, these are 15 Essonne towns who have just obtained the same recognition from the State. Indeed, a new ministerial decree, published on November 5 in the Official Journal (JO), recognizes the state of natural disaster for the municipalities of Essonne affected by the floods and mudslides caused by intense rainfall and water-saturated soil, which occurred between October 16 and 20.

The citizens concerned now have a period of 30 daysfrom November 5, to report their claims and send their insurance company an estimate of their losses, in order to benefit from the compensation provided under the natural disaster regime. Furthermore, the files of 18 other municipalities in Essonne are still being studied due to additional elements to be gathered, and will be re-examined during a subsequent commission.. “It is therefore not, at this stage, a refusal to recognize the state of natural disaster but a simple delay in the decision.”precise to conclude the Prefecture.

The municipalities affected by this recognition of the state of natural disaster are:

Bièvres, Brétigny-sur-Orge, Breuillet, Briis-sous-Forges, Forges-les-Bains, Gif-sur-Yvette, Gometz-le-Châtel, Limours, Les Molières, Saint-Chéron, Saint-Maurice-Montcouronne, Sermaise , , Le Val-Saint-Germain, Vaugrigneuse.
