Early this Monday morning, an employee of the Syded site (the Departmental Waste Elimination Union) in the Lot department, in Catus, fell into a garbage dumpster, according to information from The Dispatch.
When the man had fallen at least three meters, emergency services were called around 8 a.m. The victim, aged 35, was working on a platform above the dumpster before falling.
The employee suffered from rib and back pain
Unfortunately, the thirty-year-old's fall could not be cushioned by the waste in the dumpster. In fact, the victim hit the bottom of the structure, on which there was no trash. Thus, the employee suffered from back and rib pain. To be able to take care of him, firefighters from Catus and Luzech and a nurse were dispatched to the site.
But since it was difficult for the emergency services to reach the victim, who was three meters lower, a team of specialists from the Perilous Environment Intervention Group (Grimp) came to lend them a hand. In total, fifteen firefighters intervened on site, accompanied by the gendarmes and the mayor of Catus. The victim was transported to Cahors hospital.
