Seine-Saint-Denis will have a new prefect. Jacques Witkowski, who had held the position since 2021, was appointed prefect of the region, prefect of the Eastern defense and security zone, and prefect of Bas-Rhin on October 10, and took up his new position on October 28. october. This 61-year-old Saint-Cyrien was first a gendarmerie officer before joining the administration. He was notably prefect of Mayotte and Manche before becoming prefect of Hérault in 2019 and prefect of Seine-Saint-Denis. In the meantime, he held the position of Director General of Civil Security and Crisis Management at the central administration of the Ministry of the Interior between April 2017 and August 2019.

If we do not yet know the name of the person who will replace him at the prefecture of Seine-Saint-Denis (the interim is provided by Isabelle Pantèbre, the prefect delegate for equal opportunities in Seine-Saint-Denis ), it is different for his chief of staff. Myriam Abassi was in fact appointed sub-prefect, chief of staff to the prefect of Seine-Saint-Denis, for an initial period of three years, on October 31. This enarque (“Winston Churchill” promotion) was notably, from November 2020 to September 2022, sub-prefect for recovery to the prefect of Ile-de-France, responsible for coordinating the implementation of the France Relance plan in the region and priority government policies. She replaces Emmanuel Yborra who became director of the cabinet of Jean-Louis Thiériot, the new minister delegate to the Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans.
