In Côtes-d'Armor, this mason is regional autocross champion

Rénald Guehenneuc, 33, has been passionate about motorsport since he was very young. He has been practicing autocross for five years with his trusty customized car, an orange Peugeot 205. For the third consecutive year he won the regional championship, 1,400 cm category.3.

The Meslinois, originally from , has been licensed since 2017, at the Breizh cross tour in Guillac (Morbihan). From April to October, he drives on the region's various circuits with his 1990 Peugeot 205.

Seven years he has shared his life between his job as a mason in Saint-Rieul and his passion.

“For mechanics, I trained over the years”

“I had to completely adapt my vehicle so that it complies with the standards of the French Motorsport Federation. And for mechanics, I trained over the years, with my friends who support me, for all these years, explains Rénald Guehenneuc. A passion that he also shares with his partner, Katell and his two children, Curtis, 13 years old and Thiméo, 8 years old.

Every weekend, the family is on the region's circuits. “Katell takes care of the logistics and my sons help me prepare the vehicle. They can't wait to be on the circuits too. »

The autocross has nine categories. The races take place on circuits of 700 to 1,000 m made up of straight lines and technical sections. A round is five rounds.

“Luckily this year, my car did not suffer too much mechanical damage or bodywork. I will take advantage of the winter break to change the engine, to start a new season in the top category. I will ride in 1,600 cm³,” specifies the pilot

Rénald Guehenneuc still hopes to be on the podium next season.
