The Passenaud group
The Passenaud group has 250 employees spread over more than 10 departments around the 14 sites d’exploitation approved anchored in the territory in the West and the Center. The main site, in Champagné in Sarthe, has a scrap metal crusher and ELV (end of life vehicles).
The Laval site exists since 1988located in the Les Touches industrial zone. It extends over more than 30 000 m² and receives, stores and processes 38,000 tonnes of waste per year: metals, but also paper/cardboard, wood, plastics, waste electrical and electronic equipment, end-of-life vehicles, rubble, construction waste, hazardous waste. Passenaud offers a global waste management to its customers (professionals, individuals and communities), located within a radius of approximately 50 km from each of its sites.
A new layout
The Laval site was expanded in 2017 with the creation of a dumpster storage platform, a rainwater retention basin and the installation of a water treatment unit. It continues its transformation with the renovation and expansion of offices and spaces dedicated to clients and staff.
Work began in September. The old buildings of 150 m², too dilapidated, will be demolished and replaced by a modern construction of a surface area of 392 m² on two levels. This investment of 700 000 € is part of a strong approach of the Passenaud group to reduce your environmental footprint and improve the well-being at work.
Insulation, automatic LED lighting, heat pump… everything has been designed to provide comfort and spacewhile saving energywith a 70 m² refectory and a 23 m² raised terrace. The layout of the site will also be redesigned outside (pedestrian crossings, PRM access, parking spaces).
The work will last approximately 8 months. Finally, the equipment fleet is regularly renewed: 4% of the group's turnover is investi each year in equipment and work tools. The objective is now to strengthen sorting at source and offer customers optimum collection and sorting capacity.
