It is planned to create a possible third place in the vacancy of two offices formerly occupied by accountantsin La Ferrière-aux-Étangs (Orne). “One building dates from 2002 and another from 1994. They have two levels each,” explains Mayor Vincent Beaumont.

They are well placed strategically according to him, close to the school, the college, the childhood center, but also not far from the nursing home and the IEM of Saint-André.

2025: starting point for the third place?

If the project was rebutted twiceVincent Beaumont remains hopeful that in 2025 state allocations will make it possible. “We already have commitments from the Department and the Leader program,” underlines the councilor.

In this third place, a media library is one of the major ideas, even if there is “nothing decided at this stage”.

There is also the desire to open up more to associations or to create a coworking space.

We must ensure that we accommodate more services intended for the public.

The objective is to obtain the grants in 2025, so that everything will be “finished” in 2027, starting work in early 2026.
