After Agen and Laval, Le Monky, an XXL indoor leisure park, will open its doors in the Landes

IWe will still have to wait a few months – most certainly until the dawn of spring 2025 – to see the opening of an XXL leisure park in Mont-de-Marsan. More precisely on avenue du Vignau, in the Brico Leclerc commercial area, right next to the Basic Fit brand, along the ring road.

As in Laval in Mayenne last year, and three years ago in Agen, the Monky, a true temple of indoor leisure, will welcome young and old within a 5,000 square meter building. Work will begin in the coming days in this space which will take shape during work which should take place over a period of almost six months. “We hope to be able to open if all goes well next April,” explains Anthony Delbos, one of the leaders of this ambitious project.

Around ten activities

Once you have crossed the threshold, you can discover a huge bare building, with an impressive ceiling height, allowing several types of layout. The architects have handed in their copy. Over the weeks, this structure will transform into a pleasure palace which will bring together a little more than ten activities, like those found in the other two Monky's, in Lot-et-Garonne or even in Mayenne. .

“We remain on the same principle as that proposed for the two other open structures. We will find a bowling alley with several lanes, trampolines and even arcade games,” continues the manager. This park will also offer a game area, virtual reality headsets, laser game or more traditional games, such as billiards and darts. It will also have a kid park, with games reserved for a young audience.

Unlike the park opened in Laval (whose surface area is 7,000 square meters), there will be no karting inside the one which will open in the Landes. A choice established by the project leaders for the Mons site.

An investment of 4 to 5 million euros

Behind this project, we find people from Lot-et-Garonnais, like Jean-François Fonteneau (who is none other than the president of the Sporting Union Agenais) or even Thomas Léger (general director of the same rugby club) . Finally, Jérôme Delbos is also part of this pool of investors. He is behind the creation of L'Indé, in Agen, one of the most famous brasserie bars in the Lot-et-Garonnaise prefecture.

The investment will be of the order of 4 to 5 million euros, to set up this completely innovative leisure structure in the Landes department. In addition to the range of games, customers will also be able to find a bar with a microbrewery or a snack restaurant. “An establishment intended for young and old,” smiles Anthony Delbos. There's something for everyone, from opening in the morning until closing at the start of the night (in Laval, Monky's doors now close at 2 a.m.). Ideal for family outings or evenings with friends. As in these Laval or Agenais establishments, packages will be offered to customers.

In the coming months, another project will be opened, that of recruitment to ensure the operation of this structure. “Logically, that will be around thirty jobs,” according to Anthony Delbos.
