After free school supplies, the village of Glanes is embarking on the adventure of the municipal youth council. The creation of a municipal youth council in Glanes is a major challenge for a town of 300 people, but which looks promising in view of the very positive first meeting organized last weekend!
A look back at this unprecedented sequence which brought together seven young people, eight days ago, with the aim of implementing joint actions. Games, knowledge tests on the great symbols of the Republic, the municipal team above all wanted this time to be as friendly as possible for young people in order to integrate them into a process usually reserved for adults.
“We used a lot of visual supports to help them discover the actions of a municipality, in the form of a simple game, by putting ourselves within their reach to explain things that are sometimes very technical for us. The young people responded very well to the activities, despite their initial shyness,” said the mayor, Jacques Ferrand.
A reading during the November 11 ceremony
“The idea is above all to do as much as possible with them on the development of the village, with their view of their time. We will start with November 11 and then a day to dress the streets for the Christmas period,” added Geoffrey Cros, 1st deputy mayor.
First step for the youth municipal council, as part of the November 11 ceremony, at the time of the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in honor of resistance fighters and veterans, in the presence of the sub-prefect of Figeac. They will read the testimony of a refugee in Glanes, during the Second World War!
