Around fifty chambourins including around thirty little monstersdragons, witches, skeletons and other ghosts, participated on Saturday October 26, 2024, in the traditional afternoon ofHalloween organized by the association Leisure for all Saint-Manvieu-Bocage (Noues de Sienne).

On the menu for this crazy saraband: pumpkin carving and coloring, going door to door in search of treats and happy snacks. “The afternoon went very well. The weather was perfect and everyone really played the game as usual; both on the part of the participants and the residents,” comments Marie-Luce Métivier, member of the association. The inhabitants, warned of the imminent arrival of this « horde sauvage », were as always very generous with treats

This year, a surprise awaited the ugly monsters. Thanks to the Contes et Parchemin association, the bus shelter had taken on the appearance of a very disturbing forest cave: a ground covered with dry grass and dead leaves, cobwebs stretched over the branches covering the walls; chests, candelabra and grimoires in every corner; without forgetting the bubbling and smoking cauldrons… From this sinister lair emerged a witch, a vampire and a dark sorcerer who came to frighten the children with some lugubrious tales and stories. Fortunately, the shared snack at the end of the afternoon allowed everyone to recover from their fears.

“I love Halloween. I come every year. I like the atmosphere, the disguises, the candy hunt,” explains Luca, a terrifying 10-year-old winged dragon.

The association will meet at the Chambourins on Saturday December 14, 2024, for an afternoon of Noël full of surprises. It is rumored that the Santa Claus in person could come and distribute gifts and sweets…
