The sheep breeders of Pays Nantais can't take it anymore and have banded together in a collective called “Collective of pillaged breeders of Loire-Atlantique”. They denounce the regular theft of their animals, “which takes place all year round but particularly in March-April”. March-April: Strange, what religious or other event can take place during this period?
To fight against these thefts, livestock professionals have tried everything: night patrols, drones, “vigilant neighborhood”, cameras, Whatsapp group. Unfortunately, all this does not prevent theft. And the collective reminds our colleagues at Echo d’Ancenis that “ investigations would have made it possible to convict the perpetrators, all from the Roma community of Nantes“suspended prison sentences…” However, there are 60 Roma slums identified around Nantes…
Today, the Loire-Atlantique department is the most affected in France by sheep theft! However, breeders have also tried “mediation” by collaborating with associations like CFR 295 of Saint-Luce for example, association “accompanying the life project of Romanian migrant families in the Nantes metropolitan area, and aiming to defend access to common law for all and to promote “living together”. But nothing was done, despite leaflets distributed in the slums mentioning that it “ had to respect the law, the breeders, and not to buy any stolen animal under penalty of receiving stolen goods”breeders are always robbed. Worse, they can't even count on the support of the prefecture which kicks in.
Faced with the catastrophe of immigration, the small peasantry, like the rest of the population, is abandoned by the State.
