A new transfer of civic services will begin in November at Unis-Cité. The structure calls on young people to join the system.
On October 16, in the Ciné quai lobby, the Unis-Cité Champagne center team gave spectators information on the Civic Service system. “The Ciné-quai is a strategic location in the city. As we are in the midst of a recruitment phase to constitute our fall promotion lasting eight months (from November 2024 to June 2025) in the service of the general interest , raising awareness at the Ciné-Quai seemed like an opportune space to reach as many people as possible.”explained Charlène Lataxe, team and project coordinator and Nicolas Suppin, head of the Champagne Center branches of the association. A mobilization to engage in civic service 24 young volunteers compensated to the tune of 619 euros per month for 30 hours of weekly missions. An adventure for young people aged sixteen to 25 (up to 30 for people with disabilities) and the opportunity to get actively involved in projects of general interest. No prerequisites, diplomas or permits to join the future promotion. “Young people are recruited on the basis of their motivation, whatever their background, their educational level or their place of residence”.
Develop skills
Unis-Cité missions are a real opportunity for volunteers to develop their technical skills and interpersonal skills in various fields. But beyond teamwork and developed skills, the Unis-Cité tutoring model also allows young people to work on their future project and to use civic service as a springboard towards better socio-professional integration. Several systems and structures welcome young people in reintegration, towards training or a return to employment. “Our particularity is that we offer them innovative actions with our partners including the Médiaterre eco citizen program focused on the environment, a project aimed at seniors with the aim of breaking their isolation”. Mental health, harassment and the fight against discrimination are also at the heart of the civic services system offered by Unis-Cité. A commitment that works as demonstrated by the manager. “At the national level, seven out of ten young people engaged in civic service in our structures have found a solution to return to employment”.
