Invaded by student drivers, Lussery-Villars cracks – 20 minutes

The small village of Lussery-Villars, on the banks of the Venoge, is overwhelmed by floods of… driving license applicants. At issue: the neighboring TCS center in Cossonay, which today hosts 61% of the driving tests in the canton of Vaud, reports “24 Heures” on Monday. Every day, the town's narrow roads are invaded by cars, motorcycles, and even trucks during exam periods. On weekends, student drivers also come to train there. Exasperated, the residents pushed the trustee to file an inquiry with the Grand Council. “We’re starting to get really fed up,” sighs Yvan Stutzmann. Even on weekends, we experience the same traffic as during the week.”

Initially provisional, the relocation of examinations to Cossonay has continued since 2015 and the future Automobile and Navigation Service (SAN) still remains at the project stage. For his part, Alberto Mocchi, Green deputy and trustee of Daillens, also denounces the imbalance: “Why not distribute the exams to other municipalities like Morges or Payerne to alleviate traffic?” When questioned, the SAN reserves the first of its answers to the deputies of the Grand Council.
