November 11 is not only the day of commemoration of the armistice, signed during the First World War. This day is also Saint Martin's Day, as recalled Actu.fr. And on this occasion, fairs multiply in the Gers department.
But for the 2024 editions, the Gersois will have to juggle between the events of Lectoure and L'Isle-Jourdain, since the two fairs will be held simultaneously. The Saint-Martin of the commune of Lectoure will open, for its 41st edition, this Saturday, before ending this Monday, November 11.
The Lectoure fair, the largest and oldest in the Gers
The latter, which has taken place since 1477, is the oldest and largest fair in the Gers. For this new edition, visitors will benefit from the 119 stands installed and the 90 exhibitors expected on site. Regional products, advice from experts in insulation and crafts will be highlighted in different places in the city: Place Albert-Descamps, Rue Nationale, in the courtyard of the town hall.
For the more adventurous, the traditional funfair will also be there this year. And for the youngest, an educational farm will be accessible this Sunday. Visitors to the L'Isle-Jourdain fair will be able to enjoy the various exhibitions on Place Gambetta and Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, as well as on the Esplanade des Pyrénées.
