Emmanuel Bretagne and François Minkiewicz, brothers-in-law for life, partners at work, opened the Marée Douce business on June 12 in La Trinité-sur-Mer (Morbihan). They won the municipality's call for tenders. “It’s a place to live. Like a big family home where it’s nice to come and have a drink with family or friends,” summarize the two partners.

Bar, restaurant and tavern

One is an officer in the army, the other is an engineer in tunnel construction. The brothers-in-law lived in La Trinité-sur-Mer. They wanted to enrich the local offer. “We wanted to create a business and become a player in the region. We wanted to create a concept that we liked,” develop the two partners. Significant work has been carried out to take over from the Ostréa hotel-restaurant.

This new business offers a restaurant with gourmet “homemade cuisine”, a cocktail bar and a place to party with a guinguette.

“The restaurant menu changes according to the seasons. She is very focused on poisson and the good meat (brazier cooking in front of customers),” says Emmanuel Bretagne.

It is also a festive space with one event per week (DJ set).

The place can be privatized.

Soon a bakery in the establishment

“I had registered the need to have a bakery in the Marée Douce development project,” says Mayor Yves Normand.

The first loaves should come out of the oven in the summer of 2025. Until then, the two partners will begin work (November-December) on an interior room. “We had 200 seats for the summer. We are going to increase to 450 seats,” estimates François Minkiewicz.

Around 25 people work at Marée Douce. “We will undoubtedly have 50 employees in the summer of 2025,” says Emmanuel Bretagne. A recruitment phase is underway to find a baker.

Hours: 7 days a week in season from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Open 5 days a week due to work in November and December.
