14 months in prison for motorist who threatened bus driver with knife

A 44-year-old motorist, armed with a knife, was sentenced this Monday, November 4 to a 14-month suspended prison sentence for having threatened a bus driver in .

A 44-year-old driver was sentenced this Monday, November 4 to a 14-month suspended prison sentence by the Gap criminal court, BFM DICI learned. He is accused of having threatened a bus driver in Gap (Hautes-Alpes).

The events occurred this Saturday after a collision between the motorist and the driver. Dissatisfied, the suspect took out a knife before fleeing.

A quick arrest

“The intervention of the national police allowed a very rapid arrest of the accused after the facts, which legitimately traumatized the victim and greatly disrupted public order,” reacted Marion Lozac’hmeur, public prosecutor of Gap.

Tried in immediate appearance this Monday afternoon, the driver was therefore judged for acts of violence with a weapon without ITT.

She was sentenced to 14 months' imprisonment with probationary suspension, including a ban on contact with the victim, an obligation of care and an additional sentence of ban on carrying a weapon.
