A 38-year-old man had to undergo leg amputation following a hunting accident, this Wednesday, October 30, in Bormes-les-Mimosas, reports Var-Morning.
The thirty-year-old was picking mushrooms with two friends when, around 9 a.m., within an area authorized for pedestrians, it was victim of accidental shooting by an 82-year-old hunter who was taking part in a wild boar hunt.

The victim was hit while he was about twenty meters away of the hunting group. Evacuated by helicopter to La Timone hospital in Marseille, the man is currently in a stationary state.
The alleged perpetrator of the shooting was interviewed by the gendarmes in police custody before being released the same evening. An investigation into “unintentional violence with a weapon” was opened in order to determine the exact circumstances of this accident but, according to the regional daily, the facts could be reclassified as “involuntary violence with a weapon leading to permanent disability”, in view of consequences for the victim, father of the family.
