For the Vaucluse firefighters at night d’Halloween was not easy. There night from October 31 to November 1 was marked by a series of intense interventions. “We didn't stop,” they summarize to our colleagues from France Bleu Vaucluse, describing a night where the emergency took on the appearance of a marathon to help people in distress in the streets of Avignon.
Thirty interventions in a few hours
Between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., the firefighters came out almost thirty times to respond to emergency calls. Most of the interventions concerned people in an advanced state of intoxication, a situation described as « rare » by the Avignon teams.
The increase in festive evenings in the city contributed to this overload of calls, mobilizing emergency services without interruption.
Victims of all ages, including a young teenager hospitalized
Among those rescued, the youngest victim had only 15 ansand had to be hospitalized following a worrying state of intoxication. “A night apart”, admit the firefighters, who however remain determined to respond to protect the population.
