It was around 7 p.m. that firefighters were deployed to a place called Le Grand-Village in Azay-le-Ferron, Sunday November 3. A car left the road. In the vehicle, the 40-year-old driver was trapped in the passenger compartment. The man, in cardio-respiratory arrest, was able to be resuscitated by firefighters. In total, 17 firefighters from the centers of Azay-le-Ferron, Martizay, Le Blanc, Châtillon-sur-Indre, Saint-Genou and Preuilly-sur-Claise (Indre-et-Loire) were mobilized.
The driver was taken care of by the Samu and taken by the firefighters to the Châteauroux hospital center. However, he died within hours of being taken to hospital.
Two children aged 3 and 6 were also in the vehicle. One was unhurt while the youngest was taken care of by firefighters, slightly injured. The circumstances of the accident remain to be determined. The national gendarmerie was also on site for the first observations. This is the second fatal accident in the same week on the roads of Indre.
