Rue des Arts in Puy-en-Velay was until now the reference site, a rallying point for finding artisanal creations made in Haute-Loire. Now, there is also an Internet address: pecata.fr. Quesaco? It is, explains the author of this novelty, an e-boutique, whose name – slightly modified – echoes this cross perched on the roof of the department (read elsewhere).
Launched last April by Carole Eymaron, the online store “aims to bring together the know-how and talents of Haute-Loire and its region”. It brings together craftsmen of course, but also artists, illustrators, novelists, photographers… Pecata, sums up its founder, “it’s not just craftsmanship. I also wanted to highlight structures with a social purpose, such as the Aniciens workshops in Taulhac (on the heights of Puy) or the Bruyère workshops in Saugues.” In short, a jumble of talents with unique signatures, who promote “common values”.
They share with the 41-year-old Chadracoise a taste for homemade know-how that is as eco-responsible as possible.
When I did my market research, I realized that the word “local” is often used all over the place. Local crafts, she notes, can refer to all of France! For my part, I don't see it like that.
The architect of Pecata therefore wrote his own definition and delimited a geographical perimeter
with “Haute-Loire in the center”. “The idea is that the client is reassured when I promise them premises, that they know what we are talking about.”
Whether the creation is made, all or most of it, on Altiligrian soil, this is Carole Eymaron's main selection criterion to determine whether this or that item is in its rightful place on pecata.fr. It is also the fundamental “pillar” of its ethical charter which engages talents in an approach of eco-responsibility. Source locally, prefer “natural or recycled” raw materials, “pay attention to your environment”… “You are not obliged to meet all the criteria,” specifies the forty-year-old, “but you have to be comfortable with this charter ethics” that around thirty professionals, all from Haute-Loire, have already approved.

Some 300 products, most of them unique pieces, are available in the online store, which is less virtual than you might think. Carole Eymaron, who stores the items of her talents at home in a consignment-sale manner, closed off a room to set up a real showroom.
On the shelves are meticulously arranged the scallop-shaped candles produced in Connangles, the magnetic vases and their glass flowers created in a Tençois workshop or even soaps made in Sainte-Sigolène; Everything that the Internet user sees behind their screen, in this online store which gives “access to local, but varied, craftsmanship”, without having to travel the length and breadth of the department or to multiply parcel shipments. . A godsend as the Christmas holidays approach that the founder of Pecata is already preparing with enthusiasm.
It offers thematic boxes (At the office, special pilgrim kit or zero waste kitchen, etc.) intended in particular for companies and their committees, but Internet users are also free to compose their own, by slipping the artisanal products of their choice into their basket. . Items which will be delivered to their homes, at a relay point or at the Proxi supermarket in Chadrac (free), in “packaging collected from surrounding businesses”, indicates the woman who wishes to “democratize craftsmanship”.

The name of “Pecata,” explains Carole Eymaron, “comes from the cross of Peccata, in Mézenc. I removed a “c” to simplify it as much as possible and remove its religious dimension. Because “Peccata means “sin” in Latin.” At the same time “easy, original and creative like craftsmanship”, this name pays “tribute to the department”, Peccata being its “highlight”.
The route by Carole Eymaron: “I worked for 15 years,” she says, “in the organic food industry at Celnat, a company in Saint-Germain-Laprade specializing in the processing of organic cereals. I have held different positions.” Purchasing manager for ten years, the Chadracoise left her position to bring to life a “meaningful” project, whose values are “close to those of Celnat”.
The ideato create Pecata came “like lightning”. The Chadracoise, herself a consumer of organic and local products, noted that “to find little gems”, you necessarily had to travel around the department… Making them more accessible is what prompted the creation of Pecata.
