A housing assistance system for young people, often little known, Loj'Toît is nevertheless a first support in this process. Explanation.
Established and financed by the Region Grand East for several years now, in the south of Haut-Marne, it is the PHILL (Accommodation and integration program through Langres housing) which has been implementing the system.
Morgane Camussocial worker and referent Loj' Toît briefly explains the concept: “This system is aimed exclusively at young people in professional mobility aged under thirty, whatever their resource conditions, such as those who want to leave the family cocoon, who come to the region to complete an internship, pursue studies … “.
During the first meeting, everything starts with a listening session in order to clearly target the expectations of the young peopleso as to best meet their requests and their expectations.

“Some young people already have a very clear idea of what they want, while others come and say I don't know anything about it, could you help me find a accommodation. Our first advice will therefore be to explain to them the conditions essential for renting an apartment, before tackling the research part”, added Morgana.
Because the scenarios are multiple. If some people want a accommodation long-term, others will only stay a few months in the territory, which further complicates the process.
Loj' Toît then directs them towards partners like the PETRthe Taste of Others, Housing and Humanism… even towards certain private landlords.

However, in no case does the system replace young people, even if, as Morgane admits, it sometimes happens to her to attend the first telephone contact with the lessor, while letting the young person manage their own request. Actually “we give them the keys to make them autonomous in this area”.
Nevertheless, Loj' Toît also has an advisory mission (to claim APL, to use Visale in terms of guarantee), to pertinence of demand. This includes, for example, the adequacy between the desired surface area and the financial situation, the warning regarding heating, etc.

Loj'Toît is a sort of support platform which came to the aid, after the confinement period, to 117 people during the year 2022 and 116 in 2023. For those under thirty, valuable and a significant time saving!
