This is the second internet outage in less than a week. Customers in at least eight municipalities in the Center-Finistère sector have no longer had access to the Internet since Saturday November 2, 2024.
Plonévez-du-Faou, Landeleau, Laz, Saint-Goazec, Saint-Thois, Lennon, Spézet and Châteauneuf-du-Faou are particularly affected, as indicated by Tugdual Braban and Marguerite Bleuzen, the mayors of Châteauneuf-du-Faou and Plonévez-du-Faou.
On Facebook and on the site zoneadsl.com, users report that this would concern the operators Orange, SFR and Bouygues.
“We don’t understand what’s happening”
This is the second time this week that an Internet outage has affected the area. On Wednesday, around fifteen municipalities between Châteaulin and Carhaix were affected, depriving 2,000 homes and businesses of access to the network. The cause: a cable cut following work. The outage lasted less than 24 hours.
Three days later, again: “It’s starting to be a lot, regrets Tugdual Braban. And the problem is that there is no information. That doesn't allow people to be patient, because we don't understand what's going on. »
The mayor of Châteauneuf-du-Faou, who has not been able to contact any Internet service provider since the start of the incident, also points out the impact of such outages for traders. “It puts some of the electronic payment terminals out of use. At a time when 60% of payments are made by card, this is a problem. »
