The call for papers is launched for the 4th edition

The 4th edition of the “Indoceanie Prize” was officially launched on October 30 at the Palais de la Source by Béatrice Sigismeau, Vice-President of the Department responsible for Culture, in the presence of Juliette Janin, representative of the Indian Ocean Commission ( COI); Laurent Amar, diplomatic advisor to the Prefect of Réunion; Arnaud Guillois, Ambassador of to Madagascar; by Yolande Razanamalala, Consul of Madagascar in as well as the author Dominique Dambreville.

Georges Nakseu Nguefang, representative of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) also spoke at the presentation of this writing competition “whose name: Indianoceanie, says well what he wants to promote, what he wants to bring out , what he wants to bring to light and share” according to Béatrice Sigismeau.

Created in 2018, the Indianoceanie Prize aims to promote the common heritage of the five member islands of the Indian Ocean Commission (Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion and the Seychelles), to highlight the literary talents of these regions, to promote the French language and to arouse a taste for reading and literary creation.

The call for papers is open until February 15, 2025.

The call is open to candidates aged over 18 on the date of submission of their work and residing in one of the IOC member countries, namely: Union of the Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion and Seychelles.

The work must be written in French. The literary genres selected are: stories, theater, poetry, short stories and novels.

The submitted work must be original, unpublished and individual. It must not have already been published, awarded a prize, or submitted to the previous edition of the Indianoceanie Prize. The members of the jury, appointed by the IOC member states, are responsible for choosing the winner of the Indianoceanie Prize.

The winning text will be published in approximately 500 copies.
