Aynes' first class is renovated

The Children's Association of the Eagle Dam School held its general meeting. The first class of the Aynes school is now renovated and furnished. The second one shouldn't take long.

It was in 2015 that the association was formed within the Aynes school itself (made available by Franck Viguier), a symbol full of memories, to formalize the desire of former students to find their roots and reawaken this beautiful friendship from their childhood, in this magnificent valley. It was that same year, at the Gare de la Gare restaurant in Mauriac, in the presence of two former teachers, Simone Gaillard and Ginette Aubert, that Alain Sintrisse brought to the baptismal font the EEBA association (Children of the Barrage School of the Eagle).

This association, law 1901, whose main purpose is “to promote rapprochement and friendly relations between former students, having completed all or part of their studies in this school, their teachers and their extended families and people associated in the framework of its activity” and which has set itself the operational objective of “working towards the sustainability of the school's heritage”, held its general assembly.

An upcoming convention

The latter confirmed the revival of the Aynes school, with the renovation of a first classroom, decorated with furniture from the period. It also confirmed the good health of this association, created more than 10 years ago, and reinforced its desire to continue its action within the framework of the development of tourism in the valley. A cocktail, organized in the school courtyard, concluded the reunion in the presence of the mayor of Chalvignac, Serge Leymonie and municipal councilors; by Marie-Hélène Chastre, vice-president of the community of communes and Franck Viguier, head of the Hydro Center Dordogne group, accompanied by employees.

The president, Alain Sintrisse, took the opportunity to highlight all the voluntary contributions, those of the financial partners (the municipality of Chalvignac), as well as the goodwill of EDF, owner of the buildings, represented by Franck Viguier, facilitator of this renovation. He also announced that the second stage “the renovation of the corridor” would be the common thread for the year 2025 and would be followed by the renovation of the second class. In return, he expected the owner of the building to undertake work so that these premises could accommodate tourists and visitors. He confirmed that the development of an “occupation agreement” was being examined, to seal EEBA and EDF relations.

The vice-president, Jean Pierre Baumann, the kingpin of this renovation project, commented on the visit of this class. Everyone showed interest in this first achievement, everyone was enthusiastic about tracing their roots and the youngest about discovering the educational tools of yesterday's schools.

“So one page has turned, another will open, the Aynes school is wide awake, let's keep the flame of friendship alive for this new challenge,” concluded the president, greeting all those who have collaborated in the success of this first stage and for their commitment to the next one.
