The Greater Annecy conurbation is taking a new step in its ecological transition by deploying, from November 4, hybrid buses running on bio-fuels on the shores of Lake Annecy. These new vehicles, operated by SIBRA, will replace the coaches of lines 15 (West bank, from Annecy Station to Duingt) and 20 (East bank, from Annecy Station to Talloires-Montmin), offering a solution more sustainable transport and better adapted to the needs of users.
More accessible and more comfortable buses
These new buses, with a capacity of 70 seats, aim to make travel more accessible on the shores of the lake. In fact, they now allow access to strollers and facilitate the reception of people with reduced mobility, thus improving the experience for all users. Inspired by urban transport standards, they integrate optimized entry and exit flows, like city center buses.
A reduction in emissions for a preserved environment
The replacement of old coaches with these hybrid and bio-fuel buses also constitutes a direct response to environmental issues. By reducing emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases on the river banks, these buses contribute to the objectives of the agglomeration's Climate Pact. Frédérique Lardet, president of Grand Annecy, declares: “These new buses fully contribute to our air quality and climate objectives, in sectors where pollution remains a major problem. »
Towards an integrated and modern transport network
For Didier Sarda, vice-president of mobility, this project marks progress in the integration of the lake shores into the urban area's public transport network: “These new buses also contribute to the efficiency and performance of the network. of SIBRA, which constantly adapts and modernizes to meet mobility needs in the urban area. » He also underlines the crucial role of private carriers, such as Francony, Philibert, Loyet, and Transdev, in the success of this transition.
