Mayotte will host the 14e edition of the Indian Ocean Islands Economic Forum (FEIOI) which will take place at the new Dembeni Technopole from November 5 to 7, 2024.
This event is co-organized by the Mayotte Development and Innovation Agency (ADIM), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Cap business Indian Ocean. The theme chosen for this year is focused on “Producing regionally”. Considered to be an unmissable meeting for economic operators in the region, the Indian Ocean Islands Economic Forum in its 14e edition, will welcome more than 20 economic players from the public and private sectors. The objective is to facilitate the search for business partners while exploring new regional production opportunities with a view to contributing to the development of Indianoceania and its promotion. Active participation from Madagascar is therefore expected in Mayotte. In addition to representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the country and those of the ministries concerned, Faly Rasamimanana, the CEO of the Faly Export group will be among the speakers hosting conferences as part of this economic event.
3P approach. This economic operator committed to inclusive and sustainable development will share its experiences in the field of agri-business during the first day of this regional-scale event. At the same time, he will defend the image of Madagascar which will soon confirm its position as the food basket of the Indian Ocean. “Madagascar can provide raw materials and foodstuffs that meet the standards required by the member countries of the region” being the theme that he will address as part of his intervention at this economic forum. The promotion of partnership between the private sector and the Malagasy public sector or the 3P approach will also be developed by this economic actor given that this constitutes a sine qua none condition allowing the Big Island to achieve this ambitious objective.
Stabilize costs. Like all the other participants in this 14e edition of the Indian Ocean Islands Economic Forum, the attraction of investments in the agricultural sector, which can be a lever for the development of a nation, is essential. Spaces dedicated to B to B meetings will also be set up by the organizers during this event in order to facilitate networking between participants. The objective of all stakeholders is to stabilize the costs of raw materials as well as those of foodstuffs on the Indian Ocean market. Furthermore, Madagascar, through the participation of the Faly Export group, wants to demonstrate how to ensure food safety through the digitalization of the productive system to be able to establish trust between all development actors. The preservation of biodiversity is also essential if we want to establish sustainable development, not to mention the harmonization of standards across Indian Ocean countries.
