Even in the middle of the woods, on a slope, the public is there this Saturday, November 2, 2024 to encourage the pilots of the En'duo du Limousin. On the starting line, 198 pilot duos are entered. They must make a 105-kilometer loop by motorbike, surrounded by nature, in the Creuse valley, between Aubusson, Felletin and Saint-Médard-la-Rochette. This 24th edition is special: it is the first since the death of Boris Labrousseorganizer and president of the Enduro club Aubussonnais, the association behind this competition.
“To have continued the En’duo is to have paid it a beautiful tribute”smiles Laurane, a volunteer. “Many said it was over, well no it’s not over!”. Like the young woman, many spectators welcome the fact that the race continues beyond the death of its historic organizer. “That’s what he would have wanted, I think.”believes Patrice. Next to him, Christophe adds: “The fervor of the public is very important because today we are in a somewhat complicated era for motor sports so it’s nice to see passionate people.”
Drivers satisfied with the new team
In the paddocks, even before the start of the race, Claudio Antones is satisfied to see a new team taking over. “I like this race, we ride well, we have fun.” A few stands away, Stéphane Recurt is also delighted to be able to come back and take part in this meeting. “I’m happy that it’s being taken up right away and by young people too!” underlines the Paris region pilot. He has been coming here since 2015 and has not noticed any change in the organization. “We feel that it is still very military like in Boris’s time”jokes the pilot. “He left a legacy that is well anchored in the organization that we have there. There is no slowdown, on the contrary, we feel that there is a desire to do well to honor his memory. “
The special race on Saturday morning was dedicated to Boris Labrousse, his portrait was on the starting line. It was important to have this gesture, believes Anthony Boyer, now co-president of the association. “We wanted to do this 24th edition for him and for all the friends of the En'duo club Aubussonnais that we lost this year. Now, we are going to enjoy, have a great day and try that everything goes well for the spectators , the pilots and the organization.” During the awards ceremony, a last tribute paid to Boris Labrousse.
