“It’s true that it affected part of the group, revealed Julien Stéphan this Friday. The public obviously has the right to express its dissatisfaction and I would say that it can be justified in relation to the start of the season. On the other hand, I also know that here, it is a loyal audience and an audience that will be able to recognize in the coming weeks the progress that the players will make collectively when they arrive. It's certain that they were a little touched. But at the same time, we must understand and seek to explain the public's discontent. »

Truffert: “We know we have to do much better”

The Rouge et Noir coach asked for time to see improvement in his team's play: “No one is really happy with our start to the season from an accounting standpoint. I understand that we have to win straight away, that we have to play well straight away, that we have to create a lot of chances straight away. That's the theory. Then there is practice. And in practice, it is more difficult to put in place when there have been so many changes, when there is so little knowledge of each other, and when we have also had to delay the integration of certain players, especially in the offensive area. It's not looking for excuses, it's just trying to find explanations. But everything else, I understand. And then, that the public expects that, ultimately, I find it normal. »

Adrien Truffert, who after the departure of Benjamin Bourigeaud became the most capped player in the Rouge et Noir jersey (165 matches to date), shares his coach's speech: “I would say that I can understand them because we are not here to hide our faces, we know that we must do much better in what we propose. Now, I know that the public still supports us, but they probably wanted to show us their dissatisfaction. We are lucid and obviously, we know that the football that we are offering at the moment is perhaps not the one that we have been able to offer in recent years. But there are times like that. In any case, what is certain is that we really work every day to try to be as efficient as possible, to continue to win matches. »
