Notice to motorcyclists; a map of motorcycle routes in Lozère has just been published. Six routes are available to them to discover the department.
Between the passes of the Pyrenees and the edges of the coast, Occitanie is a dream playground for bikers. More than they think, in fact. Indeed, there are a number of walks available to them in the rest of the region. What if, for a change, you got on your motorbike towards Lozère to discover this department? The departmental tourism committee has just published a brand new dedicated map, co-constructed with motorcycle clubs. Ideal for bikers who might lack inspiration. In all, six routes are offered, totaling more than 1,100 kilometers of roads. Just that.
The six motorcycle circuits to do in Lozère
The first, with a distance of 132 kilometers, will take you to the Aubrac plateau. With Marvejols as departure, ancient royal town of Gévaudanthis circuit is rich in winding roads for maximum sensations. On the landscape side, emotion will also be there. Indeed, you will be able, from your motorbike, to admire the mountains and lakes of Aubrac which will be on your path.
The second route also promises you plenty of turns, through the passes and plateaus of Margeride. There, a diversity of landscapes awaits you: lakes, pine forests and granite chaos. A spectacle of nature that you can enjoy over a total distance of 141 kilometers, passing through Châteauneuf-de-Randon, Serverette or Chasseradès.
The third circuit invites you to take a stroll at the foot of Mont-Lozère. Picturesque, it will offer you breathtaking views while allowing you to discover Mende, the capital of the department. And, obviously, the impasse will not be made on the virolos. Allow for a distance of 130 kilometers for this route.
Explore Lozère without taking the time to pass through the Cévennes national park ? Impossible. This is why the fourth walk invites you to take a tour there. This will take you through mountains, ridges, valleys and forests over a distance of 208 kilometers. And, once again, incredible panoramas will punctuate your road trip.
As for the fifth circuit, it will take you along the water. You will be able to launch your motorcycle into the bends lined with limestone cliffs of the Lot valley and the Tarn gorges over 208 kilometers. But above all, don't hesitate to stop off in the villages you will pass through, such as Sainte-Enimie, which is one of the most beautiful in France. Unless you prefer to admire the Causses plateaus which will take you on a journey to Mongolia.
Finally, the sixth and final walk is the one that will allow you tosee the most about Lozère in a single day. This 290 kilometer loop actually goes around the department and allows you to cross the Cévennes, the Lot valley and its climbs, the Tarn gorges, as well as the Margeride plateau, with its forests and granite landscapes, and that of Aubrac.

For information, the details of these itineraries can be found on the map of the departmental tourism committee which includes QR codes allowing you to download GPX tracks and roadbooks directly on smartphone. Also listed are gas stations, garages and repairers. So, if you have found what you are looking for among these six walks, all you have to do is take out your motorbike and conquer the roads of Lozère. And this, before the temperatures are too cold and the weather too gloomy.
