A closing ceremony full of emotion and pride took place at the “La Martégale” holiday center in Ancelle to mark the end of the Universal National Service (SNU) in the Hautes-Alpes. In the presence of Jennifer Rousselle, sub-prefect, as well as local authorities, 143 young volunteers celebrated the end of their stay, a program which aims to encourage social diversity, a sense of commitment and autonomy. During these few weeks, the young people were able to share unique experiences as a community and took on many challenges, both physical and personal. The ceremony was marked by poignant testimonies from the participants, who expressed the deep imprint left by this adventure.
“Together we have experienced an unforgettable adventure. Even if this chapter closes, the lessons and values we have learned will inspire us in our daily lives.”
The ceremony was also an opportunity to award four distinct prizes to reward the investment and performance of the volunteers: the prize for the best household, the prizes for the three best girls and boys volunteers, the ONACVG (Office National Veterans and War Victims), and finally the sports prize. These distinctions highlight the team spirit and solidarity that marked this stay. The young people's testimonies highlighted the transformation experienced during the SNU.

The ceremony ended in style with the singing of La Marseillaise sung by the young people, a strong moment of patriotism which resonated with pride in the assembly, testifying to the success of a stay carrying civic values and solidarity.
