Landes races: Jean-Louis Deyris honored in the arenas of Saint-Loubouer in the Landes a week after his disappearance

the essential
It was in the attic arenas of Saint-Loubouer (40) that the Landes race was held during which a tribute was paid to Jean-Louis Deyris, who died suddenly on Thursday October 24.

It was a courageous decision. In agreement with Nadine Deyris, the wife of Ganadère Amollois and the squad, the Geaune festival committee (40) maintained the Landes race planned on its program.

No notion of cuadrilla presentation this Sunday but a team which wanted to honor its “Boss”, who certainly would not have wanted the race to be canceled.

In the covered arenas of Saint-Loubouer, packed as almost never before, there was a special atmosphere, filled with emotion and respect from the large number of spectators present.

Nadine Deyris, with great dignity which commands respect, attended the race. During the opening paséo, the actors paraded in the same line. They were joined by the men of the promotion squad and the cowherds, particularly close to Ganadère, wearing a green and white ribbon, in the colors of Ganadéria.
With Thomas Marty at his side, convalescing following knee surgery, Romain Clavé, with undisguised emotion, said a few words, followed by long minutes of applause from a standing audience.

A good show

The cuadrilla, led today by Romain Clavé, put on a good show, facing combative cows, with Silver Cordier Laurent Deyris at the end of the rope.

The French champion Jérôme Costaramone and the newcomer Jean Ducassou each make 17 gaps, while Louis Navarro, for interesting relays and the Youth Champion Théo Castagnon against Montéra, ensure 16 and 14 gaps respectively. Coming to reinforce the Promotion team, Damien Lucbernet offers a good outing in front of Nestalia and Galante, Romain Clavé stands out with a very good performance against the cow of Avenir.

2 outings in festival mode for the 2 jumpers Kevin Ribeiro and Bastien Meunier.

The composition of the team for 2025: Thomas Marty, chef, Jérôme Costaramone, Jean Ducassou, Maxime Dessa, Baptiste Pleignet and Kenji Valdès.
The jumpers: Kévin Ribeiro and Bastien Meunier.
The coaches: Florent Lassègue and Adrien Gil.
The rope maker Laurent Deyris, who will also be responsible for managing Ganadéria.
