INTERVIEW – Western Sahara, accusations linked to colonization, 1968 agreements, the historian reacts to the multiple disputes which have opposed Algeria and France for sixty years, and often result from sterile postures.
The war, led by France from 1954 to 1962, left enormous scars, which are still present. Professor emeritus at Sorbonne University and great specialist in the history of colonization in Algeria, Jacques Frémeaux questions the reasons for the difficult reconciliation between the two countries, more than half a century later.
