A body discovered in the trunk of a car in Saint-Maximin, a judicial investigation for intentional homicide opened

The ballet of gendarmerie vehicles, including a helicopter, did not go unnoticed late Tuesday afternoon between Saint-Maximin and Nans-les-Pins. The presence of men in white coats made people fear the worst. Rightly so.

“A body was indeed discovered in the trunk of a Marseille road vehicle” confirmed this Thursday the Draguignan prosecutor's office through its deputy prosecutor Laurence Barriquand.

For several days on site

There is no doubt about the murder, even if “only the autopsy will shed light on the cause of death”.

According to our information, the car – containing the body – had been parked for several days on a dirt road parallel to departmental 560. The victim lives in the vicinity of the discovery site.

A judicial investigation into intentional homicide has been opened. The investigation, under the aegis of an investigating judge, is being carried out by the Marseille research section, Fréjus branch. She will have to, based on the findings made on site, retrace the last moments of the victim's life in order to get her hands on the author of this murder.
