Jura wines have a good export reputation. A craze reinforced when emblematic winegrowers come to meet foreign consumers, at home, in this case here, early October in New Yorkwith the winemaker Philippe Bornard by Pupillin.

Philippe Bornard, whose bottles display the label bearing the famous red foxis certainly retired, but far from being inactive. A winemaker, especially with a wine heritage spanning several generations, never really stops.

Known for his wines and his warm personality, he had already met numerous times with American and Canadian wine lovers.

Sharp collectors

Currently, Jura wines are causing a sensation abroad, for their quality, their strong identity and therarity effect of certain vintages.

Another advantage of the wines from our vineyard, and not the least, is their guarding capacity. Great wine collectors are fond of them, especially so-called natural wines, and regularly buy bottles of Philippe Bornard but also of other estates such as those of Overnoy-Houillon estateor even François Rousset Martinand keep them in cellars scattered across the four corners of the planet.

“Among the best”

These collectors are thus infallible prescribers for the entire vineyard, like Jura Winemusic producer, who almost only drinks these wines. He has been a fan of them for years, and more specifically of those with minimal inputs during winemaking because “these are wines that are among the best that the region can achieve in terms of quality”, explains -he.

And added: “And Philippe Bornard’s wines are part of this category, they have a soul that rivals not only the best of the Jura but also those of the whole world.”

In addition to being a great admirer, Jura Wine also organizes wine tourism trips for small groups in order to live the experience on site with great meetings with winegrowers but also large-scale tastings with bottles and vintages that are difficult to find.

With the best sommelier in

Such a tasting of vintages from 2005 to 2017 by Philippe Bornardwhich was thus organized, at the beginning of October, in the Chambers restaurant in New York.

And not just any restaurant! That of Pascaline LepeltierFrench from the , winner of numerous prizes including best sommelier in France and Best Worker in France in 2018.

Beyond the talent of the sommelier, the restaurant is not chosen at random since there is an impressive wine list of more than 2000 references, mainly organic, biodynamic and natural.

The “impressed” tasters

It is therefore logical that Jura Wine organizes Jura wine tastings there. “The tasters were impressed by the freshness” explains Philippe Bornard. And added: “Like a Ploussard de 2005 which could have been taken for a much younger wine”.

Finally, Pascaline Lepeltier affirms her appeal of Jura wines on social networks by attesting that “the wines [de Philippe Bornard] all had evidence, in depth and brilliantly demonstrated the region's capacity for aging (if any doubt remained)…”
