Three people were injured by bullets, including one seriously injured in the head, during a shooting in front of a nightclub near Valence (Drôme), on the night of Thursday October 31 to Friday November 1, AFP learned from a source police officer.
The shooting, which is believed to be linked to drug trafficking, broke out around 2:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a nightclub in Saint-Péray (Ardèche), west of Valence, according to this source. According to the first elements of the investigation, the perpetrator of the shots was dressed in black and had his face hidden under a hood. He fired a handgun before fleeing. A 9mm caliber bullet hole was found on a vehicle.
Man shot in the head
Around fifteen firefighters intervened and treated three injured people aged 22 to 24, Valence emergency services told AFP.
One of the injured, a young man of 22, was seriously injured by a bullet in the head and transported in absolute emergency to the Valencia hospital center. His vital prognosis is in jeopardy, according to the police source.
Two more injured
The other two, more lightly affected, are a 24-year-old woman, hit in one leg, and a 22-year-old man who received shrapnel, according to France Bleu Drôme Ardèche.
The nightclub organized a “Halloween party” on Thursday evening, from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., which was attended by several hundred people. They were confined peacefully inside the establishment during the intervention of the security forces, according to the police source.
