Last June, Audrey Jedrosik created La Demeure Eternale and takes care of maintenance of tombs and restoration of plaques in many municipalities in Vendée and Loire-Atlantique.

A journey in the hospital environment

Before working in cemeteries, Audrey was used to another place: the hospital. For ten years, she cared for palliative care patients. No longer able to work in this field for health reasons, she had to retrain.

“I took care of people at the end of their lives for a long time. I wanted to continue taking care of people“, she explains.

A few months earlier, her husband had just started a cleaning business. This example will motivate her to get started: “I said to myself: why not me? “.

Helping families

Who calls on Audrey? “It is often families who request my services. It is a lot of elderly people who call on me », she explains. At Perrier, she takes care of a grave on behalf of an elderly person who can no longer do it alone.

I take care of people's final resting places

Sometimes his work goes beyond simple grave cleaning. “There needs to be understanding and respect. Sometimes we have to help families get through this moment. This is not an easy step to take. »

Occasional or regular

Audrey takes care of stone tombs as much as marble tombs. “Those made of stone are more difficult because you have to scrub. It’s a job that requires strong arms! », she laughs.

To clean, Audrey says, she only uses only natural products.

These grave interviews can be regular or occasional. “I can come for All Saints’ Day in particular. » She can also move to place a flower. She has a partnership with a florist.

Plate restoration

His activity is not limited to cleaning graves. She also does plaque restoration. For example, she arrives at recover the bronze which has oxidized.She takes all the screws, the writing, she redoes the feet when they are damaged. “It prevents people from throwing them away except that plates are very expensive and we try not to throw them away anymore. »

Its only limitation concerns aluminum: “We can't get everything back because this material is damaged if we rub too much. » Each plate renovation takes one afternoon.

Audrey operates in a large part of Vendée but also in some municipalities in Loire-Atlantique.
