During these discussions, the importance of maintaining close collaboration with the national gendarmerie and promoting internal cohesion by adopting professional and corporate behavior was highlighted. Mayors were also encouraged to invest in crime prevention and security. The commander of the gendarmerie, Damien Vidal, particularly expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation of the municipal police in the south, such as those of Bandrélé, Kani Kéli and Bouéni. Damien Vidal also welcomed the efforts of municipalities in the removal of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs), emphasizing the urgency of removing all ELVs near the national road, often used to erect roadblocks.

Furthermore, unanimously, the creation of an association of “police officers from the south of the island” was approved. This approach aims to facilitate exchanges, strengthen cohesion and encourage mutual assistance between the police services of southern Mayotte.
