Several agreements were concluded this Tuesday in Rabat between Moroccan and French institutions and entities in the public and private sectors, to further strengthen the partnership between Morocco and France in various sectors.
Signed as part of the Morocco-France entrepreneurial meeting, these agreements demonstrate the common ambition of the two countries to continue the consolidation of their solid partnership in strategic areas, with sustainable and future-oriented cooperation.
Institutional agreements include a memorandum of understanding between the Moroccan Capital Market Authority and the Financial Markets Authority, a letter of intent for a loan of 25 million euros from the French Development Agency (AFD) to the Guelmim-Oued Noun region to finance its regional development plan, and another letter of intent for support of 100 million euros from the AFD for the development plan of the Casablanca-Settat region, in preparation for the 2030 World Cup.
It is also a partnership between Bpifrance and Attijariwafa bank and a cooperation agreement between the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Morocco and Bank of Africa for the development of French investments in Morocco and Africa.
At the private sector level, this involves a memorandum of understanding between Suez and Safari for the marketing of products and solutions intended for Regional Multiservice Companies, a declaration of intent between Thalès Alenia Space and Panafsat for the supply of a communications satellite, a cooperation agreement between MGH Energy and Petrom for the production of e-fuels in the Dakhla region, as well as a joint venture memorandum of understanding between XXII and ABA Technology for sustainable development in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
The extension of the first partnership between the Hydrogen Task Force (MEDEF International) and the Green H2 Cluster, a partnership agreement between Électriciens Sans Frontières and Morocco Future Energy Leaders for access to electricity for vulnerable populations, and a protocol The agreement for a pilot digital water management solution between Aquasys and the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water was also signed.
It is also a memorandum of understanding for the creation of a regional technical center for the development of oilseed production in Morocco between Avril, Agropol and the Interprofessional Federation of Oilseeds, and another memorandum of understanding international cooperation framework between Inter Cereals, Arvalis, OCP and the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).
In addition, a framework agreement for the development of education professions between UM6P and the International School and University Office, and the entry of InnovX, a subsidiary of OCP, into the capital of the start-up French NetZero, specialized in biochar (biomass allowing carbon storage), illustrate the commitment of the two countries to strategic and innovative cooperation.
Co-organized by the General Confederation of Moroccan Businesses and the French Business Movement, via the France-Morocco Business Leaders Club, this meeting is of particular importance in the context of the state visit of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, at the invitation of King Mohammed VI, who embodies for the two countries, the strengthening of historical ties and the resolute projection towards a common, ambitious and daring future.
