Here are the names of the four winning municipalities

visual pollution – The Paysages de association unveils its prize list every year

We often rightly praise the beauty of the landscapes in France. But France also has some very ugly places. Filthy places which are entitled every year to a prize list, the Ugly France Prize, awarded by Paysages de France. “This is not a ranking of the ugliest cities, but of four places in France, in four communes of France, which, for us, represent a bit of ugly France,” underlines the association, which warned the mayors of the winning municipalities by mail a few days ago. “Not sure that they appreciate this distinction”, laugh its members, recalling however their goal is not “to stigmatize this or that municipality but to highlight attacks on our landscapes”.

In its 2024 vintage, Paysages de France awards its prize in the “Pub nursery” category to the town of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine () for a “magnificent” alignment of advertising panels installed in gardens on the side of a road .
