PAYS DE SOMMIÈRES A partnership with the CMA to promote local crafts

The Chamber of Trades and Crafts and the Pays de Sommières Community of Communes have formalized a partnership by signing an agreement aimed at strengthening their collaboration for the economic development of the territory.

The Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Gard and the Community of Communes of Pays de Sommières met on Thursday October 24 to formalize their collaboration. This agreement, lasting one year, aims to support and assist project leaders as well as artisanal businesses in the Pays de Sommières. It aims to develop the CMA Gard service offering through concrete actions to promote local economic development.

The main actions defined as part of this partnership include reinforced support for the creation, takeover and transfer of businesses with offices in Sommières, support for the development of existing businesses on key themes such as sustainable development, digital or food hygiene as well as the implementation of the “Detours and savoir-faire” action to promote local artisanal know-how and participation in the annual “Déclics et des clefs” event, focused on sustainable tourism.

From November, a CMA Gard advisor will be on duty at the headquarters of the Pays de Sommières Community of Communes. This local service will support artisans and project leaders in their efforts to create, take over, transfer and develop businesses. The days and times of these offices will be communicated soon.

The two institutions will also cooperate to facilitate the establishment and sustainability of craft businesses, which play a key role in the creation of sustainable jobs and the preservation of local know-how. This agreement illustrates the shared commitment of the CMA du Gard and the Communauté de Communes du Pays de Sommières to supporting the local economy and strengthening the attractiveness of the artisanal sector in the region.
