In October, Jeanne-d'Arc students mobilized in Figeac

During the month of October, the students of Jeanne-d'Arc mobilized, with the launch of the project around “Peer mediation” as a tool to combat relational difficulties between adolescents. But also with the training of student delegates, where fifty students representing their class received training on their roles, the rights and duties of an elected student delegate.

New this year! In order to combine conviviality and work and enhance their commitments, they shared an improved meal. These festive moments spent together are an opportunity to create the team spirit that they will have to implement to carry out their role.

Solidarity with two associations

The month of October also allowed students to show their solidarity with two well-known associations in Jeanne-d'Arc: the Figeacoise association for the fight against cancer and the Ela association, which fights against leukodystrophies. Throughout the month, and at the initiative of the twenty or so college students from the College Life Council, Tuesdays in October have been renamed “Joan of Arc Pink Tuesdays”!

Everyone could participate in this chain of solidarity by dressing in pink. “A pink stand” run by members of the CVC was also set up every Tuesday at noon in the games room, with cancer prevention information while offering for sale objects and t-shirts created especially for the opportunity. To date, these actions have brought in more than €600. The proceeds will be donated to the association fighting cancer.

1,000 young people in the race

Finally, to close this month of commitment, the students of the entire school, more than 1,000 young people from primary to high school, ran for Ela. A cross country in which the establishment has participated faithfully for many years. Students, as a sign of solidarity, could run or walk up to 3.2 km. The diversity of these projects allows each young person to get involved in one or more actions, depending on their personal convictions.
