Monday October 21, 2024, a fatal train accident took place near the Laneuveville-devant-Nancy station (Meurthe-et-Moselle).
A 17-year-old teenager, present on the tracks, is died after being struck by a TER.
An investigation opened to find out the circumstances of the tragedy
The tragedy took place this morning around 6:40 a.m., 100 meters from the town’s station. The teenager was mowed down by a train traveling at full speed.
Despite the intervention of 10 firefighters and a SMUR team, the victim was declared dead.
An investigation is open to find out the circumstances of the accident.
SNCF traffic disruptions at Nancy station
Contacted by Lorraine News, the SNCF indicates that the traffic is strongly disrupted at departures and arrivals at Nancy station: “We are waiting for authorizations to resume normal traffic.”
However, the normal resumption of traffic is estimated around 10 a.m. Users can be informed of delays on the ter-sncf.com website.
