Housing, schools, associations, businesses: nearly €8 million in aid from the region granted to Aveyron

In Aveyron, some 238 cases will benefit from the allocated regional aid. Overview of the main projects.

Gathered this Friday, October 18, in and , the elected representatives of the Permanent Commission to vote on a package of aid for the 13 departments of the territory.

In Aveyron, 238 files will receive regional aid representing a total amount of €8 million. Here are the main aids.

  • Onet-le-Château: Youth Habitats association. In the premises of Onet-le-Château, the Habitats Jeunes association brings together a reception center for asylum seekers, a temporary accommodation center for refugees, a home for young workers and a residence for the elderly. with modest incomes.

In total: nearly 230 people meet there. Until now tenant of these buildings, the association wishes to acquire them in order to perpetuate the use of this site.

These 6,000m² have accommodation adapted to different audiences, from studios for apprentices to apartments for families seeking asylum in . This intergenerational and intercultural place, located in the city center, also allows you to share services (secretarial services, night watchmen, etc.) and some activities.

The Region is supporting this acquisition with €200,000.

  • La Salvetat-Peyralès: primary school. With aid from the Region of nearly €37,000, the town undertook the energy renovation of its primary school which dates from the 1920s. On the program: replacement of oil heating with a wood pellet boiler, change of door frames, wall insulation, etc. This work, which should be completed in 2025, will allow a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and an energy saving estimated at 91% per year. Enough to lower the bill for the municipality and improve the comfort of the 50 students.
  • Estaing: expansion of the municipal campsite. Located near the GR65, Chemin de Compostela, the municipal campsite welcomes campers and pilgrims. To modernize the site, the municipality is planning the addition of 15 bare spaces and the creation of a multi-use building including toilets and an equipped courtyard (kitchen and tables). This tourist development, in which the Region is contributing more than €97,000, will also benefit residents thanks to the installation of a leisure and walking area along the stream.
  • : greener schoolyards. De-waterproof the floors, revegetate, replace dark surface coverings to reduce the effects of heat… With a regional subsidy of nearly €40,000, the City is giving a new face to the Jules Ferry schoolyard in order to improve the well-being and health of students. The municipality wishes to continue this dynamic of renaturation, with projects already planned in seven other public primary establishments in the municipality. From 2025, another courtyard will benefit from these developments.
  • Prades-d’Aubrac: new guest houses. Between 2022 and 2024, the town has renovated four gîtes from the 1980s, open for rental since May. Located in the heart of the historic center, these renovated and isolated accommodations can accommodate up to 10 people. A regional envelope of €47,000 has been allocated to this project which makes it possible to develop sustainable and local tourism in all seasons in this town located near the Chemin de Santiago and the Brameloup station.
  • Nant: a bakery for the summer. The only bakery and pastry shop in the town, L’Enfariné du Roc experiences a peak in summer with the influx of tourists, increasing from 7 to 17 employees during this period. The company decided to invest, with regional support of €10,000, by replacing the two old proofing rooms, places for rising bread.
  • Saint-Sernin-sur-Rance: accommodation to better recruit. The Valrance stay center, with 300 beds, welcomes young people and people with disabilities, to whom it offers cultural and environmental education activities. The association is planning the complete renovation of a house to accommodate external service providers and seasonal workers on site, in order to facilitate their recruitment. This project, supported by the Region with more than €118,000, also includes the adaptation of the roads, the insulation and the redevelopment of group accommodation buildings.
