A motorcyclist victim of a fatal collision on the Daniel-Pescheur circuit

Terrible drama this Sunday afternoon on the metropolis circuit, in . Two bikers collided. One of them, aged 53, could not be resuscitated.

A road accident involved two motorcyclists this Sunday just before 5 p.m. in Toulouse. A collision with serious consequences: a 53-year-old man could not be saved by the quickly alerted emergency services.

A particularity of this road accident is that it occurred on the Daniel-Pescheur circuit, named after a former Toulouse biker with the national police who took part in numerous -Dakar races before being killed by cancer in 2011. This circuit, managed by Toulouse Métropole, is located in Candie, rue de la Saudrune. A circuit which regularly hosts road safety sessions during the week.

On weekends, and particularly on Sundays, the speed track, but also the cross and trial track, is open to the general public. It was in this context of “driving” that the accident occurred this Sunday. In April 2022, a 72-year-old motorcyclist lost his life on this same circuit after losing control.

An investigation was opened by the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office to understand the circumstances of this Sunday’s clash. These investigations are entrusted to the national police and they will have to determine responsibilities.

The other motorcyclist involved in the collision, a 28-year-old man, was slightly injured but still evacuated to the emergency room of Purpan hospital by the firefighters for check-ups. He suffered in particular from an ankle injury.

Since the start of the year, many fatal road accidents involve motorcyclists. According to road safety figures, 16 motorcyclists, including four on scooters, have lost their lives since January. A very sharp increase in data compared to previous years.
