Its announcement, on September 30, 2024 in the columns of L’union-L’Ardennaishad surprised the entire local political class and beyond.

The resignation of Flavien Termet, the youngest deputy in France elected in July 2024 under the label of the National Rally, was presented, for reasons of healthto the President of the National Assembly on October 4. Published in the Official Journal the next day, this resignation opened the way to a new by-election within three months.

Already candidates?

The date is now known and the voters, officially summoned by decree: the vote in the first constituency of the Ardennes will take place on Sunday 1^is December 2024. The second round will take place the following week, December 8, if necessary.

Candidate last June for the New Popular Front, Damien Lerouge had already announced, in L’Ardennais on September 30, that he would be a candidate. On October 10, he was officially invested by the “Ardennes components” of the party. While outgoing MP Lionel Vuibert had not yet made his decision, others could soon make themselves known.
